This is the time of the school year when I must focus to finish the year strong while also looking forward to the needed planning for next school year. It is easy to feel that one foot is in 2017-2018 and one foot is in 2018-2019 already. Sometimes this can be overwhelming. Parents I know you feel the same way. You are making important decisions for today while also planning for the future. At times is hard to know precisely what we should do. In a word what can be so overwhelming is the....UNKNOWN.
I Peter 5:6-7 says "Be humble under God's powerful hand so He will life you up when the right time comes. Give all your worries to Him, because He cares about you."
This is such a powerful reminder to me that the creator of the universe also cares about what worries us. His desire is not for us to live in the dark or fear the unknown but to trust that when we humble ourselves, He is there to lift us up. That does not always mean we get the answer we want or the plans go as expected. But it does mean that we are always in His hand and His purposes will be accomplished through us. I must confess that I am slow in taking my cares to the Lord. I often feel I can solve my problems or fight through whatever issues come. I hate to say it but that is an example of not being humble. As I seek to work as unto the Lord in the remaining months of this school year and also in the planning for next I must make going to God the Father with all my worries my first priority. I encourage you to do the same. Cast all of your burdens upon Him, for He cares for you!
