The next three days remind us of the darkest moment in history followed by the singular greatest event of hope. For 33 years Jesus Christ, God's own Son, willingly walked on earth. He took on human form and dwelt among us. He knew His purpose and He knew why He had come. Jesus Christ had a focus that could not be lost. He came to die.

When faced with death and false accusations Jesus did not argue or even make a defense. In fact Jesus never got upset or angry when personally attacked. However he did get upset when God was disrespected and God's house was turned into an expensive market for buying forgiveness. I believe Jesus knew that his death was going to be the free gift of salvation for all sinners. A gift that could never be purchased and could never be earned. His death opened the door for all to receive life...the poor as well as the rich.

But death did not have the final victory! The grave was empty on Easter morning!

Jesus Christ was God in flesh. While living a perfect life He was not just an example for us to follow. While He was a "good" man, He was so much more. Christ was God's Son and the sacrifice for all sinners. This Easter season I am again reminded of the awesome assurance Christ followers have because of Jesus Christ. I would encourage you to take the time to read Matthew 26, 27 & 28. These chapters detail the greatest example of injustice. A perfect man dying for the sins of others....my sins. But it also the greatest love story. The story of God taking on human flesh to provide the only way of salvation for you and for me.
